Bastrop Job Fair for Security Positions Set for June 15

BASTROP – A job fair will be held Tuesday, June 15, at the Bastrop Municipal Center to recruit 100 qualified applicants for security officer/supervisor jobs along the Louisiana Gulf Coast.

The job fair is sponsored by the Louisiana Workforce Commission’s Morehouse Business & Career Solutions Center on behalf of Hub Enterprises, a Louisiana-based security company. The fair will be held from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the municipal center, located at 1901 Moeller Drive in Bastrop.

Hub Enterprises will hire only individuals who complete 16 hours of state-mandated security officer training. This mandated training will be provided by Hub Enterprises at no cost to qualified applicants. Upon successful completion of the training and a passing exam score, Hub will consider the applicant for employment.

Uniforms, lodging and meals will be provided for those hired for the project and on actual assignment. Workers will be responsible for their own transportation. Hourly wage will be $12-$13, depending on experience.

Applicants must meet a number of qualifications, including:

- High school diploma or GED

- Valid drivers’ license and Social Security card

- Good verbal and written communications skills

- Verifiable work experience and references

- Reliable transportation

- Telephone or cell phone

- Able to work 12-hour shifts (days and nights), sit and stand for extended periods, work outdoors, pass a drug screening, and work out-of-town for a minimum of seven days at a time

- Military or law enforcement experience considered a plus
