New Look for the Louisiana Virtual OneStop®
Redesigned web portal makes searching for a job and finding employees easier

The Louisiana Workforce Commission today announced the Louisiana Virtual OneStop, commonly referred to as LAVOS, will get a redesign on Monday, Dec. 12. Visitors will notice a site under construction message while the web portal is temporarily brought down from 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9 until 9 a.m. on Monday for the system upgrade that will feature the new look.

“The agency is excited to unveil the LAVOS enhancements and improved functionality that users will immediately notice when they visit the site,” said LWC Executive Director Curt Eysink. “The upgrades focus on greater access to workforce information coupled with a cleaner and more streamlined experience to assist job seekers and employers in finding what they need quickly.”

The LAVOS web portal can be accessed on the agency’s website, The site will feature a new appearance and layout structure, highlighted by a revolving image carousel along with a prominent navigation bar, a collapsible menu in the side navigation and easy to understand content. Additional navigation tabs include, special services and resources. The resource center is equipped with a help desk, an online learning center that houses video tutorials, and ALISON, a leading free online learning site for individuals or groups. In addition, LAVOS will have links to labor market trends, wage information, occupation and industry data, and statewide job fairs.

The site will also offer several targeted improvements to assist employers, including account management, which will provide the ability to create multiple subaccounts under a main corporate account. Job vacancies will be posted through a wizard input or a step-by-step process. This will allow employers the flexibility to complete a job posting at their convenience instead of one session because information can now be saved.

“Identifying the online needs of employers and incorporating their valuable feedback proved to be an essential element in the redesign,” said Eysink.

So far this year, the LAVOS portal has had 286,830 registered individual users and nearly 10,000 employer users. Yearly, LWC helps more than 170,000 people get jobs or better jobs.
