Employers encourged to file quarterly wage, tax reports online
Additional assistance available in October for third quarter filing

BATON ROUGE – Starting today, the Louisiana Workforce Commission is extending customer service hours on designated days to encourage employers who’ve not yet made the switch to start filing quarterly unemployment insurance wage and tax reports online.

“Now is the ideal time to switch from paper filing to submitting these reports through our web site,” LWC Executive Director Curt Eysink said. “Our online system reduces errors, simplifies the process and will save employers time and money. Customer service reps are standing by to help with the transition.”

Roughly 75 percent off the state’s 100,000 employers have already switched to online filing of quarterly unemployment wage and tax reports. Starting in April 2014, all employers will be required to file online.

Wage and tax reports for the third quarter of 2013 are due Oct. 31. To file online, visit and click the green and white label near the center of your screen that says “File Wages & Taxes.” You’ll be taken to the Wage & Tax Reporting Services page where you’ll click “Wage Reporting” to create your LWC employer account, the first step to filing online.

Employers needing assistance can call (225) 342-0210, or (225) 326-6999, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. These two customer service lines, which are designated strictly for employers, will be available until 8 p.m. on the following dates:

• Tuesday, Oct. 1

• Thursday, Oct. 10

• Friday, Oct. 18

• Wednesday, Oct. 23

• Thursday, Oct. 31
