Louisiana unemployment insurance claims report Nov. 15, 2013

BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending Nov. 9, 2013, increased to 2,707 from the previous week’s total of 2,309. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending Nov. 10, 2012, figure of 3,089.

The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,425 from the previous week’s average of 2,377.

Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending Nov. 9, 2013, increased to 22,486 from the previous week’s total of 22,416. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending Nov. 10, 2012, figure of 30,269.

The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed decreased to 22,639 from the previous week’s average of 22,708.
