BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending June 7, 2014, increased to 3,292 from the previous week’s total of 2,976. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending June 8, 2013, figure of 3,755.
The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,899 from the previous week’s average of 2,628.
Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending June 7, 2014, increased to 20,745 from the previous week’s total of 19,576. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending June 8, 2013, figure of 23,629.
The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed increased to 19,447 from the previous week’s average of 18,985.
