Louisiana unemployment insurance claims report June 20, 2014

BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending June 14, 2014, decreased to 2,691 from the previous week’s total of 3,292. The over-the-week decrease in initial claims follows the trend for the second week in June. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending June 15, 2013, figure of 2,915.

The four-week moving average of initial claims increased to 2,986 from the previous week’s average of 2,899.

Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending June 14, 2014, increased to 21,576 from the previous week’s total of 20,745. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending June 15, 2013, figure of 24,447.

The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed increased to 20,211 from the previous week’s average of 19,447.
