BATON ROUGE – Initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending June 21, 2014, decreased to 2,604 from the previous week’s total of 2,691. Initial claims were below the comparable week ending June 22, 2013, figure of 3,026.
The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,891 from the previous week’s average of 2,986.
Continued unemployment insurance weeks claimed for the week ending June 21, 2014, increased to 21,837 from the previous week’s total of 21,576. Continued weeks claimed were below the comparable week ending June 22, 2013, figure of 24,553.
The four-week moving average of continued weeks claimed increased to 20,934 from the previous week’s average of 20,211.
