LWC’s Eysink Elected President-elect of National Workforce Organization

BATON ROUGE – Louisiana Workforce Commission Executive Director Curt Eysink has been voted president-elect of the National Association of State Workforce Agencies, the non-profit that represents state workforce development and unemployment insurance agencies in Washington, D.C.

Eysink was elected by the membership of the organization, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and Puerto Rico. Eysink will serve as president-elect on NASWA’s executive committee until automatically becoming NASWA president in 2015.

Most of the LWC’s funding is federal, and it pays for most of the agency’s workforce development activities and all of its unemployment insurance administration activities. NASWA represents the states on Capitol Hill before Congress, the U.S. Department of Labor and other organizations.

“This honor stems largely from a recognition of the great work being done in Louisiana to leverage the successes of other states and to make some of our programs models for the rest of the nation,” Eysink said.

Eysink was appointed executive director of the LWC in 2009 by Gov. Bobby Jindal.
