BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Workforce Commission will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 4, in observance of Election Day. However, employers and job seekers will be able to conduct certain LWC-related business online or at some locally-staffed offices around the state.
LWC headquarters in Baton Rouge will be closed.
Individuals and employers will be able to conduct some routine business, such as filing or servicing claims for unemployment benefits, posting job openings or searching for work, at www.louisianaworks.net, or via automated features on the toll-free line at 866-783-5567. The live customer service features of the toll-free line will not be available.
Certain Business and Career Solutions Centers around the state, which are staffed by employees of local municipalities and parishes, will remain open Tuesday. Centers in the following parishes and communities are scheduled to be open for part or all of the day:
Caldwell, DeSoto, East Baton Rouge (Plank Road only, until 2 pm), East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Jefferson, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Madison, Morehouse, New Orleans (the Job One office on Tulane Avenue), Red River, Richland, Sabine, Tensas, Union and West Carroll.
All LWC offices will open for business at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5.
