1099-G Forms for 2018 Unemployment Claimants Now Available for Download

BATON ROUGE – Individuals who received unemployment benefits in 2018 from the Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) can now access their 1099-G form for filing their 2018 income tax return.

Anyone who received unemployment benefits in 2018 will be issued a 1099-G, and they must report the total in Box 1 on all 2018 tax returns. The Internal Revenue Service considers all unemployment benefits as taxable income.

The 2018 tax form is available for immediate printing and download through the LWC’s employment portal, HiRE, www.louisianaworks.net/hire. A step-by-step guide on how to locate the 1099-G form is provided once users log in.

The LWC is also mailing the 1099-G forms to the most recent mailing address the agency has on file for the 2018 unemployment recipients. All 1099-G forms will be mailed on or before January 31, 2019.
