LWC to host DCFS recruiting events in Delhi on Sept. 25

DELHI, La. – On Wednesday, September 25, job seekers in Richland, Franklin, Madison, West Carroll and surrounding parishes will have the opportunity to attend informational sessions for jobs available with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

This event is part of a series of state-agency recruitment events held in Louisiana this month.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission (LWC) has teamed up with local workforce development boards and American Job Centers to hold nine (9) state-agency recruiting events in the month of September. The upcoming event includes three (3) sessions to be held at 9:00 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Delhi Civic Center, 232 Denver St., Delhi, LA, 71232.

“The LWC aims to put all Louisianans to work, and that includes those living in rural parishes,” said LWC Secretary Ava Dejoie. “Public-sector employment provides numerous benefits for workers, including excellent benefits, State holidays and much more. When state agencies collaborate to create meaningful initiatives that help people find these jobs, it’s a win-win for Louisiana residents.”

LWC employees will be on hand at the event to offer Civil Service testing tips, job application instructions, and job-search assistance in HiRE – or Helping Individuals Reach Employment – the LWC’s online job-search tool. Event attendees are encouraged to register in HiRE at, and visit to search Louisiana Civil Service for job openings, testing information, sample test questions and information for Veterans or job seekers with disabilities.

Job seekers who attend the sessions are also encouraged to dress professionally and to bring valid identification, as well as their rèsumès.

Need rèsumè assistance? The LWC is ready to help Louisiana residents who need rèsumè help via 62 one-stop American Job Centers (AJC) all across the state, including one in Richland Parish at 146 Christian Drive, Rayville, LA, 71269. Visitors can also learn about available LWC services, including Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA), the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessments (RESEA) and Work Experience programs, and employer training initiatives, such as the Incumbent Worker Training Program (IWTP). Employers in Northeast Louisiana – including Lamb Weston, Inc., in Delhi; Angus Chemical Company in Sterlington; Graphic Packaging in West Monroe; and 20 others – utilized nearly $2.43 million in IWTP funds to train more than 4,500 existing workers last year and to create more than 200 new jobs.

Visit for information about these and other LWC programs and services, a full list of one-stops in Louisiana and more.
