Initial unemployment insurance claims drop for week ending November 13

BATON ROUGE – The initial unemployment insurance claims for the week ending November 13, 2021 dropped to 1,682 from the week ending November 6, 2021 total of 1,981. For a comparison, during the week ending November 14, 2020, 10,045 initial claims were filed.

The four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,194 from the previous week’s average of 2,474.

The unemployment insurance continued claims for the week ending November 13, 2021 decreased to 21,926 from the week ending November 6, 2021 total of 24,227. The continued claims were below the comparable figure of 91,023 for the week ending November 14, 2020.

The four-week moving average of continued claims decreased to 24,315 from the previous week’s average of 26,659.
